Position Overview: Our client is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Assembly Technician to support their special project. This role focuses on the assembly and testing of detector components used in advanced underwater detection systems.
This is a 5 month temporary role
Working under the direction of PPD and ETD staff, the technician will play a key role in ensuring accurate assembly, safe handling, and quality testing of detector systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform detector plane assembly, including heavy component integration
Assist with testing and validation of detector systems
Safely handle and maneuver heavy equipment during assembly processes
Utilize tools such as torque wrenches and floor jacks to meet precise specifications
Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to meet project requirements
Document and report assembly activities to the Principal Investigator (PI) of the END project
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in system or component assembly
Proven experience with heavy assembly work
Familiarity with:
Floor jacks
Torque wrenches
Heavy equipment movement
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
Ability to follow technical instructions and work in a team-oriented environment
